A delegation from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) in Thailand concluded a three-day academic exchange program at National Formosa University (NFU) on February 21st, 2025. Led by Dr. Pititat Itsariyapinyo, Executive Vice Dean of KMITL’s International Academy of Aviation Industry, a group of 27 faculty members and students visited NFU’s Department of Aircraft Engineering and Aviation Maintenance Center. The visit focused on professional aviation technology and talent cultivation, laying the foundation for future collaboration.
During the visit, NFU’s Aviation Maintenance and Training Center (AMTC) arranged hands-on training courses on aircraft maintenance, including “Screw Safety Wiring,” “Cable Tension Operation,” and “Hollow Rivet Implementation on Aluminum Sheets,” to enhance students’ understanding of aviation technology. The Department of Aircraft Engineering introduced students to the aerospace industry through unmanned vehicle courses such as “Introduction to Fixed-Wing Drones and Practical Implementation” and “Introduction to CubeSat and Satellite Tracking Technology.”
Additionally, the Thai faculty and students engaged in discussions with NFU’s Department of Industrial Management at the “Lean Smart Manufacturing Laboratory.” They explored topics such as the “Lean Smart Manufacturing and Carbon Footprint Monitoring System,” “Low-Carbon Diagnosis and Carbon Emission Management Technology,” “Robotic Arm Applications,” and “Factory Simulation Technology,” to understand how smart technology enhances industrial productivity and carbon reduction management.
This exchange not only deepened KMITL faculty and students’ understanding of NFU but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two institutions. It is expected that more Thai students will participate in short-term exchange programs next semester, further expanding the international perspectives of both student communities and promoting talent cultivation and development in the aviation industry.
